Prime Video unveils teaser for crime series Criminal

Ed Brubaker and Jordan Harper helm crime adaptation
Ed Brubaker and Jordan Harper serve as showrunners for the series. Prime Video ordered the production in January 2024, with Brubaker writing the pilot script.
Brubaker, Harper, and Phillips serve as creators.
Brubaker spoke on the development of the series for Amazon. He said, "Sean and I have been building this world in our books for over a decade, and now to be able to bring it to life for Amazon is just incredible". He added, "And to have Amazon support the project the way they have, and show so much faith in my and Jordan’s vision for the show is even more incredible".
Plot details focus on Leo Patterson and the Lawless family
The series follows Leo Patterson and Ricky Lawless, two friends raised in a life of crime. Charlie Hunnam portrays Leo Patterson, while the series also features the character Ricky Lawless.
The "Coward" storyline focuses on family secrets, a murder from childhood, and a failed heist. These events force Leo Patterson and Ricky Lawless to confront their past.
The "Lawless" storyline centres on Tracy Lawless as he returns to his former life. He does so to help his brother Ricky, who has encountered trouble with dangerous individuals, forcing Tracy to confront his family legacy.
The series also introduces characters including the car thief Greta, played by Adria Arjona. Emilia Clarke portrays Mallory, who is the girlfriend of Ricky Lawless.

Executive producers for the series are Philipp A. Cortney Norris and Minhal Baig serve as co-executive producers for the project.
