Reports on the injuries Saif Ali Khan sustained vary, with NDTV stating he was stabbed six times and The Indian Express reporting he was stabbed about ten times. The couple’s children, Jeh and Taimur Ali Khan, were present in the home during the attack.

Kareena Kapoor Khan described the experience as feeling like a movie scene. She ran onto the road and shouted "Ruko, ruko" while attempting to hail an autorickshaw for assistance.
