Officials said the raids were conducted simultaneously at multiple locations connected to Behera, including Bhubaneswar, Jajpur, and Baripada.

Baikuntha Nath Behera started as a junior engineer in 1999 and was promoted to assistant executive engineer in 2026. Cell Division Vigilance SP Sushant Kumar Biswal said that the valuation of the buildings and plots is being done by the technical department.

Behera works as assistant executive engineer (AEE) Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) in Baliguda in Odisha's Kandhamal district.
